Two New Songs and a Cover

Ever since my Grandfather and I would ride around running errands or going to the buffet listening to classic country music, I've been a fan. I'm talking about songs from the 40s-70s by the likes of Loretta LynnHank Williams and Patsy Cline (which, if you follow my music, should come as no surprise given my EP Here Are Some Covers). The other day I was watching a video of Faron Young and Willie Nelson talking about "Hello Walls," which was one my grandfather really loved (he thought it was so funny that a guy would be talking to walls). If you haven't heard it, go listen to the original, or if you're feeling lazy you can watch my cover of it here:

With that song in my head, a little phrase popped up while I was cleaning the kitchen: "I don't need to be anything that I'm not...I don't need anything that I don't got." Sounds pretty country, so I decided to fill it out into a song. I also had a submission for a work competition I was putting in for that had to be under two minutes, and so I decided to build out this song for that and keep it short. Here is "If You Wanna (That's Just Me);" it's simple but a fun one to bob your head to:

A couple days after that I was again in the kitchen, doing dishes or something of the sort, and was thinking about change. My main job is with Delta Airlines, a symbol which means "change" in math. I had been on a plane recently and watched a video of the Delta CEO, Ed Bastian, giving a Masterclass in which he said that throughout his time at Delta, a thru line he can point to is the old adage "the only constant is change." We have been going through some changes lately with our kids' schools, which also made me think about the repercussions of our own change on their friends. Out of that came this song, "Waves of Change," written to encourage anyone going through some painful change:

I hope you enjoy these little videos! I'm currently working on my first full-length album to be released in tandem with my first book, All Roads Lead to Dockweiler (which you can learn more about here), so if you like these tracks let me know and I'll work on a recording for them next year. Thanks for reading!
